Underarm flab is a problem area for many, the result of increased fat or age. This may lead to embarrassment. Many with this problem find themselves avoiding clothing that showcases the arms and attempt to hide this area. Below are five steps to gain victory over your underarm flab.
You are What You Eat
A healthy diet is important to losing stubborn fat and getting those lean, sculpted arms you desire. Enjoy a well-balanced, low-calorie diet of foods which fill you up, such as whole grains, beans, energy burning greens, lean proteins, and low fat dairy.
Get that Metabolism Going
Each week get going with at least 2 hours and 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. Doing a little bit each day gets your metabolism going and helps contribute to weight loss. Walk, dance, have fun! You don’t need equipment or a gym membership to get active.
Target those Arms
At minimum two to three times each week, do at least 12 pushups. Pushups target the muscles in your arms, making them stronger and more defined. To do a push up, begin on your hands and knees with your hands slighter wider than shoulder length apart. Your knees should be a hit height. Making sure your back is a straight line, slowly bend your elbows, lowering your upper body towards the ground, and being sure to look ahead. Then, lift yourself up by straightening your arms. For a really good arm workout and to make the pushups more challenging, raise your knees off the ground, and remember to keep your back in one long straight line.
Make Your Muscles Long and Lean
A least one set of 12 arms circles, two to three times per week, will help slim down that under the arm area. To do arm circles, begin by standing with your feet hip width apart. Lift both of your arms up so they are shoulder height. With your palms down, move your arms forward in a circular pattern. Then move your arms backwards in a circular pattern. Rest, then do it again, this time with your palms up, rotating your arms forward in a circular pattern, then moving your arms backwards.
Sculpt Your Upper Body
Flyes are strength training exercises where your hand and arms move while your elbow is kept at a constant position. Dumbbell flyes provide added sculpting though use of dumbbells. For maximum effect and added challenge, dumbbell flyes may be done on an incline. To achieve this exercise begin by lying on an incline bench, holding a dumbbell in each hand. Making sure to maintain a slight bend to your elbows, bring the weights forward, as though you were hugging a tree. Then lower your arms back to your starting position. Work your way up until you are doing three sets of 12 reps.
With the right diet, aerobic exercise, and dedication to following these three strength building techniques, you can gain victory over under arm flab! The key to best results is perfecting the right form, and being safe! Without any equipment you can sculpt the lean, toned arms you dream about.
